Past, present and future, as told by you...
By Sarah, Curator of West Exe

Living Here... West of the Exe is all about uncovering what you think is special about St Thomas, Cowick, Exwick or Alphington. You can use the site to share your stories, memories, snapshots, research and observations of life west of the river. It's up to you what you add. You can also get funding to run something in your community.

Who is Living Here... for?

It is for people of all ages and backgrounds, from teenagers to teachers, families to local historians. Just like RAMM it's about much more than history. You could explore wildlife, the landscape, travel, art, community cultures, or your identity and sense of place in the world and west of the Exe. The website's a place for communities to share, discover and debate. You might not agree with everything, but it's the range of views that will keep the site lively and interesting!

I'd like to do something in my neighbourhood

We have some funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help get projects off the ground. To get involved contact Penny, the Project Co-ordinator, by phone or e-mail: 01392 665306 penny.hammond@exeter.gov.uk

What can't go on the website?

There are a range of things we can't publish. These include

  • advertisments for your business
  • political and religious slogans and logos
  • your personal contact details including your address or phone number (unless you are an event organiser and this is in the community calendar)
  • things like borrowed images which break copyright law
  • anything which is just plain rude.

Hotlinks to other websites are included at the editors' discretion.
The editors will contact you if there is a reason why we cannot publish all or part of your contribution.
