An Alphington village production

"The Farmer's Wife"
By Rowena Jay

The Alphington Youth Club presented The Farmer's Wife on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th June 1949 at the Village Institute, Alphington Village.

Please take a look at the photograph featuring some of the performers, who I believe are walking up Ide Lane. Can any one tell me who is the young chap, second in from the right please?

I would be very grateful if someone could tell me who is the young chap second in from the right; I can then let the owner of this photograph know.

Following the reunion day on 6th June 09. Mr Perkins thinks the unknown chap is his uncle. He is sending a copy of the photo to him for conformation.

Yes, Roger is correct I was "Churdles Ash " in the production.
During one performance I removed my hat to fan the farmer's wife but in the process also removed my wig, revealing a 17 year old septuagenarian. It got a good laugh, much to my embarrassment

Thank you Bradley for confirming that you are the "mystery person" in the picture, I can now add your name to my copy of the photograph. It sounds as if you all had a lot of fun performing The Farmer's Wife, I would love to here more if you have a few moments.
