Exeter City Council and Devon County Council are consulting residents and businesses in St Thomas regarding proposed environmental improvements to Cowick Street. The aim of the proposed enhancements is to improve the street for pedestrians and cyclists, to make it more attractive for visitors, and to encourage people to use their local shops. There are several ways to share your views:

Come to an event in Cowick Street

As a participant in the Royal Albert Memorial Museum's 'West of the Exe' project we would like to invite you to the public consultation which will be held outside Nat West Bank, Cowick Street, on Friday 17th April (12pm-6pm) and Saturday 18th April (9am-1pm). The consultation will ask local residents and businesses for their views on Cowick Street as it is and to comment on a number of options for improvements, focusing on the area between the St Thomas Shopping Centre and Parish Church.

The consultation panels and questionnaire can also be viewed on the web from 14th April and at the Civic Centre from 20th to 24th April. Completed questionnaires can be returned by email or dropped into St Thomas Library or to the Civic Centre, Paris Street.

Would you like to be on the steering group?

We propose to set up a Steering Group will be set up to oversee the design process to ensure that the views of the community are represented. The Steering Group will consist of four representatives from the community, the ward councillors and council officers, and will be asked to meet approximately six times in 2009 (meetings will be held at a time convenient to all members). If you would like to be considered as a member of the Steering Group please could you let us have your contact details (using the email or phone number below). The names of appointed members of the Steering Group will be made public. All other contact details will be treated confidentially and will not be disclosed to third parties.
