Is this the tree that was felled?
By Rowena Jay

Here are two photographs of what is thought to be the old Veitch Nursery tree that was chopped down in 2007.

Can anyone confirm this please?

Many thanks to Mr E. Gigg who kindly gave me permission to display these photographs.

Mr. D. Snell had now confirmed that the snow covered tree is the one in question. The other tree is probably the one that stood in the Cryton's garden, number 28

I have only just caught up with this article again. I can confirm that, as, both pictures are taken from the back of No. 17, it is likely that it is the same tree. I remember the tree in Mr Creightons garden. (opposite at the front). I alway understood it to be a Christmas Tree that had been left to grow, and was there from my earliest memory.
