Harvest of Life - A Celebration of Community - Alphington

Alphington is a great place in which we live! One reason for this is the large number of local community groups which make life here so varied and interesting.

At Harvest time this year, St Michael's Church want to celebrate community with a special event called "Harvest of Life".

Friday: Open Day Church open all day for viewing of displays. Relax & enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the Café. Alphington schools & organised group visits, with activities.

Saturday: Open Day Church open for viewing and café all day

Saturday: Alphington Harvest of Talents Do you have untapped talent? Here is a chance to sing, dance, play an instrument live to a willing audience. Alphington Individuals and groups welcome.

Saturday afternoon: The Great Egg Drop All Alphington groups (not just young!) are invited to have a go at designing a contraption to safely drop a raw egg nearly 100 feet from the church tower. Including Family Fun Free family activities to keep all ages occupied

Sunday morning: Harvest Festival Celebrate harvest at our special Church service.

Sunday afternoon: Open afternoon Last opportunity to view the flowers and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea or coffee.

In the Church will be a display of old photographs showing Alphington Church through the ages and its written history. There will also be a short History Trail both inside the Church and in the Church Yard.

Other activities are likely to include, make your own flower to plant in the church yard, a historical treasure trail around the church, and make a collage of handprint flowers, something that all the community can contribute to - a living artwork!
