Share your thoughts with future generations
Penny Hammond, RAMM Development Officer

RAMM is inviting you to share your thoughts with future generations. We'd like to include your thoughts in a time capsule. We're only asking two simple questions so it'll only take a minute.

All the responses will be collected, placed in the time capsule and hidden on the Museum building site this December by BAM, the Redevelopment contractor. Answers to the question "What's on your mind?" will leave a record of current issues, whether personal, local, national or global. "Tell us about yourself" will give a flavour of the people contributing. Together they will paint a picture of everyday life in Exeter in 2009.

The time capsule was inspired by some unexpected finds during the development project. Signs of a Roman quarry were found besides the Roman wall, a scribbled note found on the back of a ceiling panel, packets of cigarettes lost by workmen found beneath the floorboards (Senior Service, Wild Woodbines and Ardath) and a portrait drawn when the room was an art studio was found behind a false wall. These intriguing finds give a glimpse of past lives; the time capsule will leave the future custodians of the building an insight into life during this momentous period in the museum's development.

We will be collecting your thoughts throughout October and early November. Anyone wishing to share their thoughts can do so by sending an email to you@exeter.gov.uk  or posted to RAMM at Queen Street, Exeter EX4 3RX or delivered to RAMM in the Library and St Nicholas Priory.

Further details can be found at www.exeter.gov.uk/you .

Please share this message with family, friends, neighbours and colleagues and add to the museums history.

With thanks,
