On the 1st June 2006, Exwick Community Association (ECA), under the guidance of Exeter Community Initiatives, held a Youth and Community Festival at the playing fields along side the flood relief, behind the doctors surgery in NewValley Road, Exwick.

Funding came from various pot and risk assesments and bookings were sent to the city council who were happy with the plan.

The 1st June was the Thursday in half term, which also landed on volunteer week and was the day before the start of the Exeter Respect Festival.

Volunteers helped in the organising committee planned the event and helped in the days leading up to the event and during the day itself. No was paid for the work but were feed and well looked after.
